A. Information You Provide to Us:

• Contact Form Inquiries: When you send a message through our Contact Us form, we receive your name, email address, optional phone number, subject, and message content. This information is used solely to respond to your support request or feedback. It is never added to unsolicited marketing lists or sold to external parties.
• Member Account Registration & Cloud Favorites (Optional): If you create a member account to synchronize favorites across multiple devices, we collect your display name, email address, password (stored via irreversible modern cryptographic hash), minimum age confirmation, and your saved station favorites. For registered members, station favorites are stored securely in our database (radio_user_favorites table) so your favorite stations remain synchronized across all your logged-in phones, computers, and tablets.

B. Information Processed Automatically:

• Client-Side Local Storage (Guest & Unregistered Mode): When listening as an unregistered guest without an account, DJAY.ca stores your playback volume, mute state, player docking position (bottom bar, top bar, or Picture-in-Picture drawer), recent listening history, and guest station favorites exclusively in your browser's localStorage. No personal identity or favorites are stored in our database for guests—all data remains locally on that specific device. If you later choose to register or log in, any local guest favorites can automatically migrate into your cloud account.
• Google AdSense (Advertising): We display non-intrusive advertisements served by Google AdSense to support the free operation of the radio directory. Google and its third-party advertising partners use cookies and web beacons to serve ads based on your prior visits to DJAY.ca or other sites on the web. (See Section 4 for details and opt-out options).
• Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to monitor aggregated, non-personally identifiable site statistics (e.g., page views, country-level visitor distributions, browser types, and popular station discovery patterns). This telemetry helps us diagnose performance bottlenecks and improve stream stability. Google Analytics utilizes anonymized IP addresses.
• Google Fonts: DJAY.ca uses Google Fonts (Inter and Outfit) to render typography cleanly. When you load a page, your browser requests font files from Google servers, which may log standard technical connection metadata (such as your IP address and user agent) in accordance with Google's font delivery terms.

📻 2. Live Radio Streams, Broadcasters & Cloudflare Edge Proxy

DJAY.ca provides a modern browser interface to discover and connect with independent third-party radio broadcasters across the globe. When you tap play on a live station:

• Direct Stream Connections: Where compatible, your browser connects directly to the broadcaster's streaming server (Icecast, Shoutcast, AzuraCast, HLS, or direct media URL). Broadcasters receive standard technical HTTP requests from your IP address, just as if you visited their streaming portal directly. Each broadcaster maintains its own independent server logging and privacy policies.
• Cloudflare Edge Worker Proxy: To deliver uninterrupted streaming and live song identification across all web browsers, we route select stream metadata and audio requests through a stateless Cloudflare Worker edge proxy. This serves two vital technical purposes:
  • CORS & Mixed-Content Compatibility: Allowing your browser to securely play legacy HTTP-only radio streams on modern HTTPS encrypted connections without browser security blocks.
  • Live ICY Track Metadata Parsing: Fetching and parsing the current song and artist title (StreamTitle) directly from audio stream headers so it can be displayed in real time on your player.
• Zero Worker Logging or Data Retention: Our Cloudflare edge worker operates strictly as an ephemeral, stateless passthrough conduit. It does not record, log, store, or profile your personal IP address, listening habits, or device telemetry.
• No Injected Ads or Tracking: DJAY.ca never injects audio advertisements, tracking pixels, or commercial overlays into broadcaster audio streams.

⚖️ 3. Age Restrictions & Children's Privacy

DJAY.ca is designed for general audiences. Protecting the privacy of young people online is paramount to our philosophy:

• COPPA & International Standards: In compliance with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), EU GDPR Article 8, and Canadian PIPEDA/Law 25 standards, our registration system enforces a mandatory minimum age gate (e.g. 13+, 16+, or 18+).
• Zero Child Data Harvesting: We do not knowingly solicit or collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a minor under 13 has registered an account without parental authorization, please contact us immediately so we can purge the record.

• Self-Service Account Deletion (Right to be Forgotten): You can permanently delete your account directly from the Member Dashboard. Depending on your choice, this either purges all user meta records or anonymizes your identity.
• Marketing Communications: We do not spam. If you opted into community stream updates, you may unsubscribe with a single click at any time via the link in the email or within your dashboard.
